AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT MECHANIC with Security Clearance

Duties * You will install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment and related devices or components. * You will complete simpler installation, maintenance, testing and repair projects by independently following oral instructions, schematics, blueprints, and work orders. * You will make visual, audible and mechanical checks for proper temperature of spaces, unusual noises, loose connections, gaskets and similar defects. * You will inspect individual parts, assemblies, or installations, using test and measuring instruments of the trade. * You will start up equipment, and makes adjustments as required to ensure proper operation of systems in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions or specific instructions provided by the supervisor or a senior mechanic. You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs. * You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. * This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
