  • Job functions include the following:
  • -You will check credentials of personnel or vehicles to control access to base posts, buildings, private property, or restricted areas.
  • -You will maintain security equipment to confirm proper working order and functionality.
  • -You will use a computer system and software to prepare written reports of unusual situations and conditions encountered.
  • -You will speak with witnesses or persons involved in accidents to obtain statements.


Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This position is restricted to applicants with veterans preference. However, applications will be accepted from non-preference eligibles that may be referred for employment consideration only in the absence of applicants with veterans preference.
  • You will be required to pass a yearly physical and continue to be physically fit. Required to pass a Physical Agility Test prior to employment and annually thereafter.
  • Required to wear a uniform and comply with grooming standards.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
