If so, our USCG Ship Design team is looking for you As a Journeyman Marine Propulsion Engineer, you will: * Join a well-established team that gives you the opportunity to grow * Maintain your secret clearance * Receive robust benefits package that includes Employee Stock Ownership Plan * Be a part of an empowered accountability culture where each employee-owner has a meaningful stake in the future success and growth of the company A week in the life of a Journeyman Marine Propulsion Engineer: * Design, development, and evaluation and operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as power supply and propulsion systems. * Review third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems * Perform design reviews, evaluations constructability reviews, helping resolve technical uses and managing information generated through design and construction phase * Support marine engineering analysis related to vessels * Help team to create graphical representations of structures * Inspect equipment or systems * Research advanced engineering designs or applications * Support in preparation of technical reports for internal use Job Requirements * Bachelors Degree in an Engineering field * Ability to obtain a Secret level clearance At least 6+ years of experience in: * Marine specific fields such as auxiliary systems, propulsion systems, fluids and hydraulics. At least one (1) year demonstrated experience in: * Shipbuilding * Supporting a major system acquisition program (DHS/USCG Level I, DoD ACAT I or equivalent) Founded in 1975, AMERICAN SYSTEMS is one of the largest employee-owned companies in the United States. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $110,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
