Summary You will serve as a Lead Police Officer of NAS JACKSONVILLE SEC DET. Duties * You will control access to secure areas by checking all facilities (e.g., gates, locks, fence lines, designated sensitive buildings) to protect an installation. * You will explain policies, goals, procedures, and regulations to assigned law enforcement personnel. * You will conduct random searches of vehicles to detect unauthorized removal of classified material, government property, contraband, weapons, or explosives. * You will initiate action when unlawful entries or other violations are found as a result of making physical security checks of buildings. * You will use established techniques and procedures to seize and protect evidence. * You will write crime scene reports containing evidence and statements gathered. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Must be a US Citizen. * Must be determined suitable for federal employment. * Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. * New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. You will be subject to random testing. * This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
