What You Will Do
Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous RedHat Enterprise /
Microsoft Windows and environment.
Lead and coordinate the Red Hat Installation and configuration.
Design, develop and deploy Red Hat Podman containers.

Participate in all phases of Engineering software installation and support, with emphasis on testing, documentation, and acceptance phases.
Collaborate with teams and mentor junior Linux admins.
Apply understanding and knowledge of Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.

Apply understanding of data RAID, data backup uses and technologies. Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
The candidate is responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to a Linux/Windows infrastructure for classified programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation support.
Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.

Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.
Full time 100% Onsite position.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically, Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience or 9 years of prior relevant experience.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience with some of, but not limited to, the following technologies: Red Hat Enterprise Server, Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, BackupExec, NetBackup, prior systems administration and networking administration experience, Windows or Linux administration, backup, and recovery enterprise suites.
Experience with Server architectures and troubleshooting methods and be able to assist in developing solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems.
Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, Linux Desktops, Windows desktops (Windows 10, 11), Splunk and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Active DoD T/S clearance, or the ability to obtain one.

Direct working experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF.
In-depth working experience in Linux Server

Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
Experience with Microsoft WSUS, SCCM, and/or Exchange
High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.
Scripting Experience.

The salary range for this role is 85,000 USD - 179,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
