What You Will Do:

  • You will work collaboratively with a cross-domain team to architect product line computing modules 

  • You will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of flight-critical circuit card and sub-level module hardware for military and commercial aviation solutions and avionics products.  

  • You will manage schematic capture of digital/analog mixed signal electrical circuit designs 

  • You will manage a project plan requiring estimation of task size, identification of dependencies, and risk and opportunity management. 

  • You will lead an engineering team by organizing tasks, coordinating team efforts, asking questions, communicating status, raising issues, brainstorming ideas, helping others, practicing active listening, and promoting a collaborative environment.

  • You will learn the technologies of today and tomorrow which we count on to maintain world leadership in the avionics industry.  

  • You will learn all phases of the hardware product life cycle from requirements through to verification, while employing the company engineering processes to produce high quality products.  

  • You will learn the requirements for product certification required by federal agencies.  

  • You will learn how to establish and maintain a computing module platform product line with a broad base of customers. 

Qualifications You Must Have: 

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

  • 8+ years developing hardware design including working with systems and subsystems teams to determine meaningful and testable requirements for the design 

  • + years of experience working with standard lab equipment for integration testing of hardware designs 

Skills We Value: 

  • Printed board (PWB) layout expertise 

  • Experience Interfacing with complex embedded devices (microprocessors, graphics processors, memory) 

  • Digital logic device development experience (including FPGA and ASIC development) 

  • 6+ years of formal qualification experience (preferred DO-160 or MIL-STD-810/MIL-STD-461 standards, DO-254) 

  • Understanding of Design to Cost (DTC+), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT)

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
