Job Description: We are currently seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Lower Elementary Assistant will work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher to create a supportive and engaging learning environment for children ages 6-9. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of young learners while gaining valuable experience in the field of Montessori education. Responsibilities: Classroom Support: Assist the Lead Teacher in preparing and maintaining a well-equipped Montessori classroom environment that fosters independence and exploration. Curriculum Implementation: Support the implementation of the Montessori curriculum by preparing materials, guiding children through activities, and facilitating hands-on learning experiences. Individualized Attention: Provide individualized support to students as they engage in self-directed learning activities, offering guidance and encouragement as needed. Classroom Management: Assist in maintaining a positive and orderly classroom atmosphere by modeling respectful behavior, implementing classroom routines, and addressing student needs effectively. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff members to ensure continuity in curriculum delivery, assessment of student progress, and communication with parents. Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to deepen understanding of the Montessori philosophy and enhance teaching practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred. Montessori Assistant certification or willingness to pursue certification. Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting is desirable. Passion for working with children and a commitment to supporting their holistic development.
