Summary

This position is in the Office of Research and Development, Center for Environmental Measurement and Modeling, Ecosystem Processes Division, Landscape and Aquatic System Modeling Branch. About Office of Research and Development:

Duties

At the entry level of this position, you will:

Assist higher-graded IT Specialist with the design and development of efficient and effective applications through optimal use of reusable components  Provide maintenance for existing software systems. Monitor information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices to application software services. Coordinate activities with program staff in order to meet program needs and maintain compliance with industry and agency standards for software applications. Assist in the definition of projects or delivery/task orders in relation to the design, development and deployment of IT systems.

When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses. NOTE: Career ladder promotions are not automatic, and all eligibility and qualifications requirements must be met in order to progress to the next grade level.

You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
