The Opportunity

In that spirit, we are looking for a seasoned communications leader to join our team as Director, Internal Communications. This is a key internal leadership role that will drive employee communications for our thriving Aspen Dental brand across more than 1,100 independently owned Aspen Dental offices, as well as our TAG People/HR leaders.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, implement, measure, and refine innovative, strategic communications & change strategies and programs that inform, engage, and inspire our Aspen Dental clinical and field operations team members.
  • Coach, develop, and lead a high-performing team in successfully delivering results and exceeding stakeholder expectations. Provide constructive feedback and development opportunities to support their success.
  • With the guidance and support of the VP of Internal Communications, partner and collaborate with PR, social media, and the broader marketing team as needed to align internal messaging with TAG external communications strategy and brand standards.
  • Cultivate trusted partnerships with Operations, HR/People, and Clinical Teams, gaining deep insight into team structure, dynamics, norms, and needs in order to successfully counsel leadership on communication efforts, and develop and implement effective communication strategies and tactics.
  • Manage a comprehensive internal communications calendar and ensure regular capture and assessment of metrics to track performance and employ a data-driven approach, holding the full team accountable.
  • Employ a thoughtful, multi-channel approach to effectively communicate messages across internal platforms, including meetings, intranet, video, emails, blogs, digital channels, presentations, and other emerging technologies.
  • Commit to a culture of innovation on the team, proactively exploring new ways to advance the team’s efforts to exceed stakeholder expectations.
  • Assist with managing key meetings (e.g., org-wide meetings, Town Halls, etc.) and events that drive engagement and facilitate employee connection to our goals and mission.
  • Serve as an advisor on company culture, values, and reputation.
  • Serve as the internal communications lead for crisis response.
  • Develop and manage budget.



Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years of experience, including previous experience with building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, English, journalism or related field, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. Advanced degree a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully creating and delivering strategic communication programs aligned with business goals that deliver real results.
  • Previous experience working alongside senior leaders, providing trusted counsel, and positively influencing decision-making within complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Exceptional skills in helping leaders and organizations define and develop messages that are clear, concise, creative, and persuasive.
  • Ability to synthesize diverse activities into a clear and compelling framework that helps stakeholders understand how they connect to a broader agenda.
  • A commitment to change management, ensuring communications strategies and plans reflect a deep understanding of the impact of change on adoption and engagement.
  • Strategic Approach – keen analytical and strategic planning skills to develop communications that reflect the enterprise’s strategy and help advance business growth.

Salary: $165-185k with bonus opportunity
