We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced (minimum 5 years) Drinking Water Treatment/Environmental Engineer. Responsible for inspection of water filtration / treatment system installation & construction projects for adherence to design specifications, regulatory compliance, and industry standards. This role involves on-site inspections, documentation, and reporting to verify that all environmental work, including equipment, installations, and materials, meets design, quality and safety standards. The Environmental Engineer will collaborate with project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to maintain the highest levels of workmanship and compliance.



Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Inspection & Testing
  • Conduct detailed inspections of water treatment equipment and installations, including finishes and materials of construction to ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Collaborate with and support cross-functional groups on environmental engineering aspects of various construction activities.
  • Ensure that construction practices and materials comply with the approved plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records of inspections, including daily reports, checklists, and photographs.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive inspection reports, highlighting any deviations from specifications or standards and recommending corrective actions.
  • Document non-conformance issues and follow up to ensure they are addressed and resolved.
  • Coordination & Supervision:
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address and resolve any issues related to environmental quality and compliance.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to ensure that project teams understand and implement necessary changes.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions related to project progress, quality control, and safety.
  • Compliance & Safety:
  • Ensure that all environmental engineering work complies with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Monitor on-site safety practices and ensure that all personnel adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Identify potential safety hazards related to environmental elements and recommend measures to mitigate risks.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Participate in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards for environmental engineering inspections.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for improving QC processes and procedures.
  • Stay current with industry trends, advancements in technology, and regulatory changes to continuously improve quality standards.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.


Minimum requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in water treatment design, environmental engineering inspection, quality control, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Oregon, or ability to obtain within 3 months.
  • Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems and trade practices for water treatment systems is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed reports and effectively communicate findings to various stakeholders.
  • Work independently with limited supervision.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Other miscellaneous qualities:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
