Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, optimization, and maintenance of data architecture tailored to tax resolution and preparation services.
  • Develop scalable data pipelines and integrations using AWS technologies to support growing volumes of tax data from various sources.
  • Define and gather tax-related data requirements, manage large sets of structured and unstructured data, and validate the accuracy of tax data using advanced Big Data tools.
  • Implement processes to ensure data reconciliation and quality, guaranteeing that critical tax data is accurate, secure, and available for tax professionals, and business processes.
  • Collaborate with tax resolution specialists and data scientists to design solutions that support advanced analytics, such as tax forecasting, risk assessments, and client-specific tax strategies.
  • Evaluate, implement, and deploy emerging tools to streamline tax data processing, reporting, and analytics, improving overall operational efficiency in tax resolution workflows.
  • Ensure that all data architectures adhere to legal and regulatory requirements in the
  • tax industry, including compliance with IRS regulations and other relevant guidelines.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with data architecture in industries that handle sensitive financial data, ideally within tax resolution or financial services.
  • Proficiency with Hadoop Ecosystem (Hive, Spark, MapReduce) and NoSQL databases like HBase, Cassandra, or MongoDB for processing large sets of tax-related data.
  • Hands-on experience programming in Python and working with Apache Spark (SparkSQL, Spark Streaming) or similar frameworks to manage tax data workflows.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS cloud technologies (Lambda, S3, DMS, Step Functions) and their application in managing and storing tax-related data.
  • Experience with data integration and data modeling, ensuring data is properly structured for tax preparation and reporting needs.
  • Proficiency in SQL and building optimized queries for 'Big Data' pipelines that process structured and unstructured tax data.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and experience in working with tax professionals, data scientists, and solution architects to meet business goals.
