Job Description

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced leader to spearhead the transformation of the data warehouse from on-prem to the Azure Cloud space. As the Director of Data Architecture, you will lead solution design, develop governance, and manage your global team's deliverables and quality control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and lead cross-functionally to implement the organization's data architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Lead initiatives to improve the usability, scalability, efficiency, and security of data resources.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure smooth functioning of the enterprise data system.
  • Align data systems with broader organizational data solutions and analytics initiatives.
  • Enable the data science team by establishing robust data pipelines that ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable data flow, enabling advanced analytics and informed decision-making.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or closely related field; Master's degree in related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 15 years of applicable experience with 10+ years of specific IT experience in managing solution designs.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in lead roles architecting solutions at scale for cloud data platforms.
  • Hands-on experience architecting and building secure, scalable, and flexible enterprise data projects in Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong governance and management experience is required.
Preferred Skills
  • Expertise in building secure and scalable data ingestion, ETL/ELT solutions using Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or similar tools.
  • Experience designing data structures and models for data lakes and cloud data lakehouse for downstream analytics applications.
  • Strong SQL skills and programming skills using Python and Pyspark.
  • Comfortable working within an agile environment and collaborating with product owners in creating and managing technical backlog of stories and epics.
