Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Podiatrist & Wound Care Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this unique role, you will provide comprehensive podiatric care and specialized wound management services to patients in various settings, including their homes, long-term care facilities, and outpatient clinics. Your expertise in both podiatry and wound care will play a vital role in improving the quality of life for individuals with complex foot and lower extremity conditions.

Responsibilities:

  1. Comprehensive Podiatric Care: Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients' foot and lower extremity conditions, including diabetic foot ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, pressure injuries, and traumatic wounds. Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs and goals.
  2. Wound Assessment and Management: Utilize advanced wound care techniques and evidence-based protocols to assess, treat, and manage acute and chronic wounds. Perform wound debridement, dressings, offloading techniques, and adjunctive therapies to promote healing and prevent complications.
  3. Diabetic Foot Care: Provide specialized care for patients with diabetes, including routine foot exams, ulcer prevention education, and management of diabetic foot complications such as neuropathy, peripheral vascular disease, and Charcot foot deformity.
  4. Patient Education and Counseling: Educate patients and caregivers on proper wound care techniques, diabetic foot self-management strategies, and preventive measures to reduce the risk of foot complications. Provide guidance on footwear selection, skin integrity, and lifestyle modifications to support optimal foot health.
  5. Collaborative Care Coordination: Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and wound care specialists, to coordinate comprehensive care plans and ensure continuity of care. Facilitate referrals to specialists as appropriate for additional evaluation or treatment.
  6. Documentation and Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including patient histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and progress notes. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and documentation requirements.
  7. Mobile Clinic Operations: Manage scheduling, route planning, and logistics for mobile clinic visits to patients' homes and healthcare facilities. Coordinate with administrative staff to optimize efficiency and productivity while delivering high-quality care on-site.
