Job Title: Complex Litigation Attorney

Location: Chicago

Overview: Our firm is currently in need of a skilled Senior Complex Litigation Attorney with a keen eye for detail, diligence, and exemplary client management abilities. We specialize in litigation defense and deal with prominent, high-stakes cases with often intricate legal issues. The successful candidate will carry a wealth of experience specifically in complex litigation defense. Typical cases would involve defending the officer/governmental entities in situations such as officer involved shooting scenarios where a civilian has been harmed.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive case analysis, develop effective defense strategies, and represent clients in court.
  2. Heavily involved in complex litigation cases, utilizing expertise to drive positive outcomes.
  3. Manage the discovery process, draft pleadings, and attend pre-trial hearings, depositions, arbitration, mediations and trial.
  4. Align with clients to thoroughly understand pertinent case details and deliver tailored advice and representation.
  5. Foster collaborative relationships with all parties to ensure a thorough understanding of case information and nuances.
  6. Keep abreast of latest legislative developments and case precedent in areas of legal specialism.
  7. Comply with all legal standards and protocols.

Requirements:

  1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school.
  2. Possess a current license to practice law in Illinois.
  3. Proven experience of 5+ years as a complex litigation attorney, preferably in litigation defense.
  4. Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal court procedures.
  5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Unparallelled negotiation skills with a track record of successful outcomes.
  7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  8. Profound knowledge of law, legal procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules.
