I am currently partnered with one of the premier sports and entertainment enterprises to assist in staffing their rapidly expanding media technology organization. I am recruiting for a Senior Engineer (Streaming Media) who is passionate about building engaging video applications for a massive consumer base.
If you're interested, you'll have the chance to contribute to one of the leading sports and entertainment platforms globally. You'll work on a dynamic platform that covers everything from sports, live content, and video on-demand to other digital properties. The company is experiencing tremendous growth, expanding its already large consumer base, and continually enhancing its portfolio of digital and video products. They're focused on driving new user acquisition, creating stronger brand partnerships, and building an even more massive, unified platform. The work environment is highly flexible, fosters creativity, and gives you a strong voice in the overall development process.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Create large-scale global products for live events, on-demand content, and other video applications.
- Join a team dedicated to solving challenging problems and enhancing digital products for an engaged user experience.
- Design and build complex streaming applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and high reliability.
- Utilize HLS and DASH to deliver high-quality video streaming experiences across web, mobile, and OTT devices.
- Configure and optimize SRT and RTMP for streaming video content.
- Participate in development, cloud architecture, and agile process methodologies.
- Maintain and expand your knowledge of multiple languages, frameworks, tools, devices, and applications.
- Lead and take ownership of critical projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate with a team of extraordinary engineers and streaming media technologists.
- Influence the innovation of video products used by millions of users worldwide.
- Engage in full lifecycle software development: requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Help reshape the way content is consumed across various digital platforms.
Skills & Experience Needed:
- 5+ years of experience in streaming media engineering.
- Experience with live and VOD (Video on Demand) streaming media.
- Highly proficient in delivering high-quality video streaming experiences via HLS and/or DASH.
- Skilled in video QoE metrics, ABR algorithms, and video player frameworks.
- Familiarity with Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) platforms and OTT integrations.
- Experience with SRT and RTMP for delivering video streams over the internet.
- Proficiency in React and JavaScript.
- Cloud experience with AWS and/or GCP.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of event-driven systems, patterns, and best practices.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, particularly Terraform.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, or a related field.
