Accounts Payable SpecialistWe are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a team on a contract basis in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This role involves managing financial tasks across several areas, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, purchasing, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate should possess a strong attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to navigate complex funding regulations and grant requirements.Responsibilities:Process and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and timeliness.Assist in preparing financial reports while ensuring adherence to organizational policies and funding regulations.Support payroll operations for a workforce of over 300 employees, including data entry and reconciliation.Interpret and apply regulations related to funding sources and grant applications.Organize and maintain financial records to ensure compliance during audits.Collaborate with internal departments to streamline purchasing and other financial operations.Handle financial tasks related to lending and other finance-related activities as required.Participate in cross-training initiatives to provide support across various accounting functions within the organization.Requirements:At least 35 years of accounting or financial experience.Previous experience in nonprofit fund accounting is preferred.Familiarity with payroll processing for large teams, ideally 300+ employees.Comprehensive knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable procedures.Ability to interpret and manage complex funding regulations effectively.Understanding of grant application processes and compliance standards.Proficiency in accounting software and tools such as Microsoft Office Suite.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
