JOB SUMMARY:

The Technical Writer is responsible for creating clear and concise technical documentation for our products and services. This may include various reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, work instructions and technical documentation related to the installation, operation and maintenance of machinery and other equipment. The Technical writer will communicate and collaborate with subject matter experts to gather all the necessary information. This role requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex technical information into user-friendly documentation.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and subject matter experts to gather information and ensure accuracy of content.
  • Write and edit technical documentation including user manuals, work instruction, API documentation, release notes, and other support materials.
  • Organize and maintain documentation repositories to ensure easy access and version control.
  • Conduct research and gather information from various sources to accurately document technical processes and procedures.
  • Work closely with product teams to understand product features and functionalities, and translate technical specifications into user-friendly documentation.
  • Continuously improve documentation standards, processes, and templates to enhance overall quality and usability.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, or forms to incorporate into documentation.
  • Ensure fields flow in the correct sequence.
  • Create table of contents and cite sources.
  • Work with subject matter experts and managers for feedback and approval.
  • Provide updates and different editions as necessary.
  • Edit and update legacy documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • degree or higher
  • years’ experience in industry; 5+ years as a technical writer
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and version control systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
