Senior HR Director

Our Client, a specialty contractor in barriers and markings is seeking to add a Senior HR Director to their leadership team. This role will work ONSITE in Pewaukee, WIand will work standard hours M-F. This is a full-time role that maintains an executive seat among 9 other leaders. This role pays in the $150K - $200K range based on experience and includes a quarterly discretionary bonus program. This role also offers strong benefit package – Health, Dental and Vision covered at 80% - and a 401K plan that sees a 20% reinvestment in the employee.
The key to this role is executive leadership experience in a union setting. This individual will build an HR team to support a current staff of 100 employees and a flexing union staff of 50-100 employees (these numbers will double within the next 2-3 years). As such, this HR professional needs to be a “doer” that can build this team from the ground up in conjunction with a non-union business and HR peers in this space. The incumbent will:
- Take responsibility for overseeing all aspects of HR Management.
- Work with Union shops across multiple states and assure compliance and contractual requirements.
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies for hiring qualified professionals – Union and non-union.
- Manage onboarding and orientation processes for new employees.
- Address employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances in a fair and compassionate manner.
- Promote a culture of open communication and teamwork.
- Monitor employee performance and provide feedback and coaching.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
- Administer employee benefit programs, including health and retirement plans.
- Direct and handle Workers Compensation Programs.
- Handle leaves of absence for both union and non-union employees.
- Lead and develop employee recognition programs.
- Works closely with Payroll and Compensation teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field.
- 10+ years experience working in a HR Leadership role.
- 5+ years dedicated to “Union” within an HR setting.
- 5+ years experience in the construction or skilled trades arena.
- Proven experience in “strategic” leadership with a track record building a team.
- Exemplary communication skills.
