The Team:

We are seeking a Business Data Architect to join American Tower’s multifunctional Shared Services team. The team delivers process optimization and technology solutions, manages data, and reports analytics for all departments within our U.S. Tower division’s Operations organization. Day to day you will ensure that the organization's data assets are effectively utilized to drive business outcomes and will design, implement, and maintain data architectures that support business objectives. As a Business Data Architect, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders including IT professionals, business leaders, data stewards, and analysts to define and document data requirements, standards, and best practices. You will play a key role in ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and usability across the organization and that data are treated as strategic assets.

What You Can Offer Us:

  • Design and maintain data architecture models that accurately represent the organization's data assets to facilitate efficient data management and analyses. Represent the data architecture, integration, and data modeling function in discussions with key stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement data strategies that support business objectives and align with industry best practices. Work with internal business and technical partners on priority programs and projects, advocating a data-first mindset.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to develop and maintain a scalable and flexible data architecture framework that aligns with business goals and emerging technologies. Ensure seamless integration and accessibility of data from various sources.

Deliver lineages, data modeling recommendations, and other collateral as part of information governance, IT, and business process project work.
  • Develop a strategy to define, document, and communicate data architecture artifacts. The artifacts should support effective management and the quality of data assets and be used to drive decisions on how to effectively structure data.
  • Support a data governance framework by defining data standards, policies, and procedures to ensure quality, integrity, and compliance of data assets. Collaborate with business and data experts to profile source system data and translate business requirements into data requirements.
  • Support information governance in identifying and remediating data quality issues by identifying root causes and solutions that support long term data management. Help identify opportunities to improve data quality and support efforts to develop a robust data quality oversight program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years working in a business data architecture, data modeling, or similar role required.
  • In-depth knowledge of data modeling principles, techniques, and tools required.
