RESPONSIBILITIES:


This position is responsible for all activities related to the implementation and troubleshooting of controls and control systems. The associate will be involved in the specification, development, design, purchase, and installation of control systems. The associate may also be required to assist in the troubleshooting and improvement of various control systems throughout the plant.


This is a position which represents the attainment of specialized knowledge in breadth and depth. Associate applies knowledge and experience to complex situations and problems, and provides solutions to issues. Associate performs independently and uses experience to guide actions. Associate may also mentor less experienced colleagues.

  • Support the Company’s mission, vision and values in performance of daily activities.
  • Maintain PLC based control systems for manufacturing, automation, and instrumentation.
  • Program PLC ladder logic from start to finish
  • Lead projects and assist skilled trades in electrical disciplines.
  • Support operations in electrical/controls troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities.
  • Generate wiring schematics and control drawings with AutoCAD, maintain all plant electrical prints.
  • Work closely with engineering team to define system control needs.
  • Select industrial control components and assist with MRO crib.
  • Guide design, develop and test electrical control methods, materials, processes and results.
  • Train, coach, and mentor the electrical controls process for controls engineers, manufacturing and skilled trades colleagues.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university (or equivalent)
  • Eight years of related technical, hands on experience.
  • Applicant must have basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; experience in AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent design programs a plus
  • Applicant must have working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC hardware and RSLogix 5000 programming
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Organized and able to meet deadlines while performing multiple duties.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Working knowledge of appropriate electrical controls and safety engineering standards, and industry practices.
  • Excellent "hands on" electrical/mechanical aptitude.
  • Understand electrical/controls circuitry and schematics.
  • Working knowledge of Ethernet IP and factory automation
  • Knowledge of NEC and general machine safety, electrical safety and machine guarding components; high level of safety awareness (RIA and OSHA).
  • Knowledge of ANSI standards for presses and assembly machines.
  • Knowledge of factory information system.
  • Specialized knowledge of the following electrical/mechanical components:

Optical/Inductive/Capacitive sensors, vision, motors/servo/drive systems, contactors, starters, relays, switches, power supplies and transformers, electrical enclosures, and wiring.
