My Brooklyn based client is hiring for a Product Development Associate to support the entire Product Division. They are hiring for two positions, one in their home division and one in paper.


MUST HAVE full time experience with product development, managing and reviewing samples, excel experience, partnering with both internal teams and factories & manufacturers, and helping to design products and review specs.


*EXPERIENCE IN HOME, GIFTING, TABLETOP, TOYS, ETC- NOT FASHION EXPERIENCE


This role is full time and onsite Monday-Thursday and remote Friday.


PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

The main responsibility of this position will be:

  • Writing production notes and details to be sent to design and production
  • Selecting production note spec elements
  • Communicating with PD managers and factories to confirm detail specs and templates for production notes
  • Proofing production art and work with designer on any edits
  • Other responsibilities will be:
  • Assisting with sourcing and costing
  • Organizing and maintenance of material, swatch, and embellishment libraries
  • Maintenance and creation of development sample and retailer program trackers
  • Support with sample comments & updating approval sample charts
  • Submitting own trend ideas for trend meetings
  • Managing project status list for task responsibilities


Skills Needed:

  • Experience in product development and/or sourcing a plus
  • Knowledge of Gifting, Tabletop, Home Décor formats a plus
  • Excellent communication & collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel
