Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Coordination:
  • Arrange cutting and sewing of sew guides and SMS with domestic factories and in-house sewers, including communication of combinations and finishes to the cutters and sewers.
  • Problem-solve on-site issues related to print/EMB placement and garment construction.
  • Fabric and Trim Sourcing:
  • Source fabrics, trims, and linings from local stores or overseas suppliers/manufacturers for protos and SMS.
  • Collaborate with overseas suppliers and manufacturers to ensure quality and timely delivery of materials.
  • Quality Assurance and Timely Delivery:
  • Communicate comments on embroidery, embellishment, prints, wash and fabric to overseas factories, troubleshooting issues to meet design standards and timelines.
  • Follow up with overseas factories regarding the quality and timely delivery of embroidery, prints, solid fabric, trimmings developments, and overseas SMS.
  • Manage SMS shipments for overseas showrooms to ensure timely delivery before markets. 
  • Communication and Fittings:
  • Utilize Mandarin proficiency to communicate effectively with local sewers.
  • Attend fittings for development protos, assisting in pinning and cutting garments, updating sketches as needed, while documenting details for in-house pattern corrections or tech pack comments.
  • Design Collaboration:
  • Work with in-house sewers on mock-ups to execute design vision and develop garment washes and printing/dying techniques using local resources.
  • Technical Management:
  • Create and update development POs as required.
  • Manage domestic and overseas SMS fixing with in-house sewers, ensuring all developments meet design standards and timelines.
  • Maintain records of development approvals to effectively communicate fabric and development information to production.
  • Pattern Management:
  • Coordinate the digitization of in-house patterns for overseas production and organize domestic paper patterns.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in product development or technical design.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred.
  • Strong design sensibility and brand-appropriate taste to ensure quality garment execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional time management, organization, and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Knowledge of woven garment construction and fabric/trim sourcing.
  • Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, or Technical Design.
  • Experience in women’s wear is preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.
