Engineering And Maintenance Manager

Growing Industrial Manufacturer located in Northwest Indiana is seeking an Engineering and Maintenance Manager. This individual will oversee the maintenance and engineering operations within our industrial manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of all machinery and equipment, leading a team of engineers and technicians, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, maintenance technicians, and support staff.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and manage the department budget, including capital expenditures and maintenance costs.
- Maintenance Operations:
- Oversee the maintenance of all manufacturing equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Coordinate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities without disrupting operations.
- Engineering Projects:
- Plan, design, and execute engineering projects to improve manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and other best practices.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive initiatives to achieve targets.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all maintenance and engineering activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
- Promote a safe working environment and address any safety concerns promptly.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in maintenance and engineering management within an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proven track record of implementing successful maintenance programs and engineering projects.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
- Experience in a union environment
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
