Dispatcher Public Safety DepartmentFull time employment day/night, 14 day cycle starting on Tuesday and consisting of 2 working days of 12 hours, followed by 2 days off, followed by 3 working days of 12 hours, followed by 2 days off, followed by 2 working days of 12 hours, followed by 3 days off.Responsible under direction of the Shift Supervisors for accurately receiving and sending messages emergency and non-emergency via radio, telephone or computer.Communicates with fire agencies, RIEMA, 911, DEM, hospitals and law enforcement agencies via radio, telephone, and RILETS and NCIC computer systems. Operate computer-aided dispatch and radio consoles. Monitor direct emergency alarms. Monitors prisoners in cellblock area, holding rooms. Also, Public Safety Building and Town Buildings via CCTV system. Perform various miscellaneous clerical duties and walk in complaints.Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Must be able to type a minimum of 20 words per minute.
