Real estate tax attorney needed for a growing regional law firm located in the South Suburbs of Chicago.The real estate tax attorney will assist with the administration of property tax appeals, including the timely preparation and filing of appropriate complaints and supporting evidence at three administrative levels as well as in the Circuit Courts.


Some additional responsibilities include:

  • Analyzes properties, reviews, and drafts briefs and all supporting evidence for income producing and owner-occupied properties including real estate development projects from demolition to completion for new construction, building rehabs, and Incentive based purchases.
  • Understands and interprets assessment records, assessment histories and other relevant documentation common in the practice.
  • Monitors and assists with all filings for tax objection cases filed in the Circuit Court of Cook County as well as court call management and document production.
  • Communicates with clients, both through written and verbal means, including drafting correspondence to summarize appeal results and recommendations, requests and follows up for appropriate data, and fields questions and concerns regarding pending appeals, new properties, and other various matters.
  • Communicates with county representatives concerning hearings, scheduling issues, pending settlements, refunds, and other related issues.
