LHH is supporting a long time client hiring a Payroll Manager. This company has been a stable part of our community, providing services to consumers and businesses alike, employing local people and providing long term career options.


This Payroll Manager will oversee a payroll team who does the processing of payroll for roughly 1500 multi-state employees, including all systems, taxes, compliance, communication, and reporting.


Compensation: $115-125K plus bonus and comprehensive benefits

This job is Hybrid, requiring some onsite in the Portland, OR office


This job:

  • Oversee processing of payroll for multiple states on a bi-monthly cadence
  • Direct Management of small team of payroll specialists/administrators
  • Research payroll laws, keeping our compliance up to date in as many as all 50 states
  • Payroll for Hourly, Salaried, and Commissions pays
  • Partner with Financial leadership to maintain internal controls, and a a strong, functioning payroll department


Your background includes:

  • 5+ years strong payroll experience; must have 3+ recent management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred. CPP is also acceptable
  • Strong systems skills preferred; prior system implementation/upgrade experience highly preferred
  • Ability to improve payroll processes and procedures
  • Professional communications to interact with employees throughout the organization, staff, and management
