Insight Global is seeking a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills. The Engineering Technician will work in the development services department supporting private developments.

Below are the job duties:

  • Review and approve encroachment permits.
  • Review utility map requests and prepare GIS Maps and record drawings for distribution to company customers.
  • Inspect cleanout installations.
  • Review building permits and clear C7 holds.
  • Intake approved, revised, and record drawing improvement plans and create Maximo service requests for document room storage and asset creation in GIS.
  • Answer customer phone calls and return voicemails regarding Development Services and plan check issues.
  • Intake, review and process workflow for Access Permits and upload to SharePoint.
  • Upload acceptance letters to internal Plans Database and Record Center.
  • Create Maximo service requests to create and update assets.
  • Provide assistance with septic tank conversion inquiries.
  • Answer a variety of inquiries by providing information indicated on record drawings, assessor parcel map books, and historical files.


Desired Skill Set:

  • Experience within Civil Engineering
  • General knowledge of civil engineering principals including but not limited to: topographic and construction surveying, hydraulics, pumps, civil engineering design and drafting methods, and/or equipment
  • Ability to review plans, upload files, and answer customer calls as needed
  • Ability to write reports and handle invoices accurately
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Office, etc)
  • Confident team player with strong work ethic


Compensation:

$25.00/hr to $30.00/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
