Clinical Nurse Manager - Ambulatory Surgery Center


Winter Garden Surgery Center is looking for a leader to be fully engaged in providing No Harm/ High Quality, memorable Patient/Customer Experiences, and Stewardship. Under the direction of the Administrator, the Clinical Manager has the leadership responsibility for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating quality clinical care while providing support services for the clinical team. The Clinical Manager attends and reports regularly at Teammate, Quality Improvement, and administrative meetings.


PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Plan, implement, deliver, and evaluate Patient Care Services and the Center's goals/objectives. Work to meet or exceed all performance measurements set out annually by administration.

2. Direct departmental preparation for licensure and accreditation review and ensure standards are met.

3. Assess delivery of care and patient outcomes through rounds, committees, quality assessment, performance improvement activities and patient surveys.

4. Promote, plan, and implement multi-disciplinary collaboration to ensure a coordinated approach to healthcare.

5. Design, implement, and evaluate policies/procedures, systems, roles, and programs of the Centers and implement necessary changes to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness that will result in improved patient care services.

6. Define educational needs and actively support staff development activities.

7. Direct and provide leadership in developing operating budgets, capital budgets and labor budgets.

8. Counsel associates, evaluate grievances, resolve conflicts. Review and approve all personnel actions.

9. Direct and support efforts to achieve and revise staffing standards including periodic review of staffing patterns, employment and recruitment and retention programs and human resource utilization. Set goals and evaluate progress annually for all clinical teammates.

10. Establish and maintain positive, effective communication and interpersonal relationships with physicians, associates, clinical and business office team.

11. Establish and maintain a participative environment supportive of developing and optimizing organizational goals/objectives of quality, customer satisfaction, associate engagement, operational effectiveness, fiscal responsibility, and programs/services.

12. Develop and direct organizational quality assurance and quality improvement plans.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • License: Current, active State of Florida RN license
  • Certification: ACLS, BLS, PALS
  • Work Experience: Minimum 2 years surgical leadership experience in a hospital or surgery center, with demonstrated success and expertise in employee engagement, quality performance, and customer experience.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must have recent experience in at least one of the following areas, to include but not limited to: Operating Room Circulator, GI/ENDO Nurse, Pre-Operative Nurse, and/or Post Operative Nurse. Scrub experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in Ambulatory Surgery Center preferred.
  • Customer Focus: with all levels and styles of individuals to provide quality, safe patient care, and an exceptional customer experience.
  • Communication: Oral, written, and auditory; use tact and influence when needed
  • Interpersonal relations: establish and build rapport internally and externally
  • Financial Acumen: plan and manage as needed to achieve financial goals

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically agile; may require walking, standing running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching frequently
  • Medium work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, with or without assistance
  • May require moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders or over head
  • May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift
  • May be exposed to inside and outside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to loud noise
  • May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC Guidelines.
