Summary:

Create and maintain master schedules for Consumer Product Partners production lines. This includes using SAP to review demand and create planned orders, reacting to changing demand, and working with the Conversions and New Products teams to capture all new items.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Behavior: Exhibit team player qualities of cooperation and coordination; professional interaction in all business contacts, all day, every day.
  • Attendance: Present for work when scheduled is a mandatory function.
  • Safety: Your compliance with all company safety rules procedures and guidelines is essential.
  • Plan and control all scheduling activities supporting assigned production lines and categories.
  • Balance production and inventory levels with demand to support target OTC goals, inventory turns goals, and the inventory strategy.
  • Level-load production lines to smooth demand spikes and seasonal impacts.
  • Retime production lines daily around production plan attainment and material supply issues.
  • Add and subtract from production schedules weekly so changeovers occur on weekends.
  • Identify upcoming material supply concerns and follow up on delivery plans to help avoid unplanned material shortages.
  • Monitor FG weeks of supply and adjust near-term schedules accordingly.
  • Expedite replacement production when FG stock is lost to quality, cycle count, or expiration issues.
  • Work with Operations to schedule rework on production lines.
  • Work with Customer Services and Sales Support for stock inquiries.
  • Develop daily and weekly formula tank support plans with Operations, Perform Compounding Scheduler duties for certain production lines and categories.
  • Develops S&OP summaries for assigned production lines and categories and attend the monthly S&OP Supply meeting.
  • Creates and maintains master schedules for assigned production lines using Planned Orders for Planning Materials. Will also use SAP and Excel to analyze data and create master schedule models.
  • Works with other department leaders to recommend, develop, and implement process changes. This includes business processes and SAP processes and transactions.
  • Uses MRP and custom reports to ensure an accurate and efficient schedule.
  • Serves as a primary back-up for other department team members.
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of Bills of Merial, communicates recommendations for bill of material changes (such as consolidation of pack size, product conversion information, etc) to purchasing, warehouse and sales departments.
  • Possesses the ability to make clear and concise decisions in a fast-paced environments with Consumer Product Partner’s best interest in mind.
  • Serves as a point person for material conversions. Possesses a complete “current state” understanding of all conversions and new products planned for assigned production lines.
  • Work with Production, Compounding, and Material Planning to ensure material availability and line efficiencies. This includes supporting OEE and Lean initiatives.
  • Is a go-to person for the daily activities within the department and provides leadership to other team members.
  • Be available and ready to update schedules at night and on weekends when unplanned issues occur.
  • Attends meetings and communicates through the organization to ensure adequate information flow.
  • Attend meetings with customers when requested by an Account Manager
  • Offers suggestions for improvements to maximize production efficiency.

Education Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in a business field is desired

Experience Requirements:

Three to five years of experience in a Scheduling, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Material Management, Expediting or Contract Packaging related functions. A combination of demonstrated successful experience and training may offset education requirement. Minimum one to two years’ experience in purchasing preferred.

Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience required. Experience in working with SAP is preferred. Knowledge of purchasing, materials management, and Sales and Operations Planning is a plus. Must have written and oral communication skills and computer skills

APICS Certification is desired

Work Environment:

Exposure to normal office environment as well as warehouse and production floor. Will be exposed to ambient noise level in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands:

Talking, hearing, sitting, standing, and walking. Dexterity sufficient to bend, stretch, walk, stand, and perform repetitive motions; sitting for extended periods. Close vision and ability to identify and distinguish colors required. Clarity vision at 20 inches or less.
