LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Logistics Fleet Manager for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a transportation client just in Indianapolis. This manager will serve on the leadership team responsible for the complete carrier compliance process for the organization. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of logistics industry experience with DOT, domestic fleet regulations. The salary range is $80-100k+ plus healthcare, 401k and generous PTO package.


Fleet Management:

  • Oversees the transportation and all shipments of company products
  • Developing and executing a comprehensive Fleet Management strategy, including safety policies, vehicle specifications and usage guidelines, maintenance protocols, and accident reporting procedures.
  • Investigating accidents involving company vehicles, initiating documentation processes, and managing insurance claims, ensuring follow-through and conflict resolution.
  • Selecting vendors and maintaining ongoing relationships with them.
  • Monitoring fuel and maintenance costs, as well as approving repair orders.
  • Performing administrative tasks such as obtaining or transferring vehicle titles and renewing plates/tags.


Safety Management:

  • Creating and implementing safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Planning and executing programs to train managers, supervisors, and employees in work safety, incident prevention, and proper handling techniques.
  • Driving a positive safety culture through safety awareness programs across the organization.
  • Developing and implementing regular safety communications to operations and the entire organization.
  • Conducting quarterly safety inspections at all locations to identify potential accidents, health hazards, and compliance with regulations.
  • Participating in or conducting quarterly and monthly safety meetings for departments.
  • Preparing studies and analyses of company injury trends for senior leadership.
  • Providing and updating information, signs, posters, barriers, and materials to warn of health and safety hazards.
  • Administering compliance websites such as ISN, Avetta, and others.
  • Managing worker’s compensation claims.
  • Handling other duties and projects as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
  • 5+ years in an administrative role working with a fleet of vehicles.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a safety role.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing a fleet of 100+ vehicles.
  • 3+ years of experience handling worker’s compensation claims.
  • 3+ years of experience with safety programs.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Additional certifications, such as Certified Safety Professional and other OSHA, MSHA, or DOT designations, are highly desirable.
  • Experience leading asset management through an acquisition.
  • Experience using HRIS, ERP and DOT software systems.
