About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Fleet Technician to join our team at Sysco. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance Inspections: Conduct regular inspections on all fleet vehicles and equipment to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
  • Diagnose and Repair Complex Issues: Use your expertise to diagnose and repair complex issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Document all work performed on work orders and maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
  • Train and Mentor Colleagues: Share your knowledge and expertise with junior technicians to aid in their development and growth within the company.
  • Collaborate with Fleet Management: Work closely with fleet management to ensure that all vehicles and equipment are properly maintained and that maintenance schedules are met.
Requirements
  • 5+ Years of Experience: In fleet maintenance and repair, with a focus on diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicles.
  • ASE Certifications: Hold current ASE certifications in diesel engines and other relevant areas.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with colleagues and management.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to lift and move heavy equipment, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet the physical demands of the job.
