DESCRIPTION

We are ready to show the world that Birmingham has more than they could ever imagine, and our team needs an experienced marketer to help make that happen. The Birmingham Business Alliance (BBA) is seeking a creative, execution-oriented strategist to join our team as the Communications Manager. This role is charged with designing and executing comprehensive internal and external campaigns to amplify the organization’s mission of serving businesses across the Greater Birmingham Region.


This position reports directly to the Vice President of Communications & Marketing and serves as an integral member of the organization's communications team. Strong candidates should have a sense of urgency around their work, be a willing collaborator, and have demonstrated experience in AP style, writing, digital marketing, internal and external communications planning, email marketing, project management, content strategy, and brand management.


RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Develop, implement and oversee comprehensive marketing strategies and top of the funnel marketing campaigns to drive growth across BBA’s many stakeholders

·        Develop press release drafts and other promotional materials

·        Oversees all internal workflow of the communications department and lead the daily coordination of marketing programs and tactics across the entire organization

·        Develop, plan and post content for all BBA social media platforms

·        Execute creative digital ad units and email marketing campaigns that attract, grow and track leads

·        Collaborates closely with external and internal partners to develop communication pieces

·        Coordinates final review and approval before internal or external communications are released and ensures all produced materials adhere to brand standards

·        Serves as key point of contact and manager for brand websites including BirminghamBusinessAlliance.com and BirminghamHasMore.com

·        Track and analyze business performance to ensure goals are delivered. Develop monthly reporting to social results, key learnings and indicated actions


QUALIFICATIONS

·        Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing or a related field

·        Minimum of three years of experience; ideal candidate would have 3-6 years of experience in communications, public relations, journalistm and/or marketing

·        Shared commitment to our organization’s mission of serving businesses across the Greater Birmingham Region

·        Effective project manager and highly deadline-driven

·        Energetic brainstormer who can own bringing ideas to life

·        Highly motivated self-starter and multi-tasker

·        Excellent leadership and organizing skills

·        Adaptable and open to quick pivots to accomplish goals

·        Strong copywriter and copyeditor

·        Keen understanding of digital marketing strategies and techniques, especially email marketing (Mailchimp)

·        Understanding of social media platforms and their ad units, as well as Salesforce CRM, Canva, PowerPoint and other industry tools


JOB TYPE

This is a full-time salaried position. Office hours are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with expected availability to work mornings, evenings, and weekends based on key events. This role is based in Birmingham, Alabama, and is not eligible for remote work.
