Summary of Position

Under the direction of the clinical informatics manager and the ancillary EHR support specialist, I am accountable for meeting the goals set for the clinical informatics department. Works closely with the clinicians, physicians, dentists, advanced practice providers, and administrative and information technology staff to ensure integration of organizational initiatives and technology into the patient care process. Supports project and clinical systems' analysis, evaluation, development, implementation, updating, and integrity. Coordinates education of all users in clinical software to support virtual and telemedicine visits, telehealth, and ancillary departmental activities. This position coordinates and facilitates support of tasks related to virtual and telemedicine visits, telehealth support, and ancillary departments. Must have a designated work area in the home and the ability to accommodate staff needs remotely and onsite.

Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods.

Ability to read and understand the English language.

Ability to effectively maintain confidentiality of records and communicate with all levels of personnel.

Experience: 2+ years in an outpatient provider office setting

Additional skills required:

Knowledge of Outpatient Clinic Operations

Experience in the Microsoft Suite

Superior written and verbal communication skills

Must be able to work with changing priorities.

It requires excellent organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Must be able to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority.

Requires the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Must be able to function as part of a team.

Must possess initiative.

Basic medical and dental terminology is required, and knowledge can be obtained through formal classes or work experience.

Additional skills preferred: Proficient in using all computer software utilized in practice, presenting and/or teaching experience a plus.

Education: High school diploma or GED required

Experience Required: 2 or more years in an outpatient provider office setting or related experience.

Professional Licensure: N/A

Certification(s): Current MA or Dental Assistant preferred.

Key Responsibilities (10-Core)

1. Supports essential functions in the EMR/EDR.

2. Has a basic understanding of Epic, OCHIN, Dentrix & Dexis functionality.

3. Able to coordinate and use varying clinical software applications and work with hardware to support clinical, telemedicine software and ancillary departments.

4. Can adjust user permissions (linked templates & provider master file) in the EMR and EDR.

5. Assists with the Information Technology department in the support of clinical users when appropriate.

6. Maintains current knowledge of clinical practice, organizational policy, regulatory requirements, and standards of practice.

7. Able to manage OCHIN JIRA's & Kintegra tickets.

8. Present and train telemedicine procedures and Ancillary departments; educate staff and providers on how to complete an appointment from home or off-site.

9. Assist with special projects as needed.

10. Other related duties as assigned.
