Position Title: Oil & Gas Midstream M&A Banking Associate


Overview:

As an Oil & Gas Midstream M&A Banking Associate, you will be an integral part of our team specializing in mergers and acquisitions within the oil and gas midstream sector. You will play a key role in executing transactions, conducting financial analyses, and providing strategic advisory services to our clients. This position requires a strong understanding of the oil and gas industry, particularly the midstream segment, as well as excellent financial modeling and communication skills.


Responsibilities:

Transaction Execution:

  • Work closely with senior team members to execute M&A transactions, including buy-side and sell-side advisory assignments, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
  • Conduct financial analyses, including valuation, pro forma financial modeling, accretion/dilution analysis, and scenario analysis.
  • Assist in due diligence efforts, including reviewing financial documents, conducting industry research, and identifying key risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare transaction-related materials, such as pitch books, information memoranda, management presentations, and other marketing materials.

Client Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, including senior executives and key decision-makers in the oil and gas industry.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing their inquiries, providing updates on transactions, and delivering high-quality advisory services.

Industry Research and Analysis:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, regulatory developments, and competitive landscape affecting the oil and gas midstream sector.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify potential acquisition targets, strategic partners, and investment opportunities for clients.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including investment bankers, legal advisors, accountants, and other external parties involved in transactions.
  • Support senior team members in managing deal processes, coordinating workflows, and ensuring timely execution of deliverables.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or financial advisory services, preferably with exposure to the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts, including valuation methodologies, financial statement analysis, and corporate finance principles.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques, using Excel and other financial analysis tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proven analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to conduct thorough research and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
