Customer Solutions Representative – Credit/Collections
Location: Chicago (Archer Heights Neighborhood)
Environment: Hybrid (onsite 3 consecutive days/month - rest of the month is remote)
Hours: Rotating shifts (every 2 weeks) of 7 am - 3:30 pm and 8:30 am - 5 pm
Pay: $45 - $50K (+ compensated overtime and quarterly bonuses)
About the Position: As a Customer Solutions Representative, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive support and service, focusing primarily on accounts receivable activities while supporting our sales team and customers. Your responsibilities will encompass handling inbound and outbound calls, managing from pre-sales inquiries to invoice payment processes, and ensuring exceptional customer service through active listening and resourceful problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to inbound calls and emails, addressing inquiries related to order processing, credit applications, and payment status.
- Evaluate credit worthiness using credit reports, process credit applications, and manage documentation on credit, tax, and collection activities.
- Determine the validity of tax exemption certificates and process credit memos as needed to adjust tax balances.
- Utilize a soft collections approach to contact customers for past due invoices, negotiate payment arrangements, and escalate issues as necessary.
- Analyze billing and payment histories to reconcile internal accounting discrepancies, prepare invoice corrections, and take appropriate actions for resolution.
- Maintain a structured task schedule, adapting to changing priorities and utilizing downtime for follow-ups, processing credits/refunds, and outbound collections.
- Embrace problem-solving opportunities, engage with customers proactively, and contribute to a collaborative work environment focused on innovation.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Business or related field required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Account Management, Accounts Receivables, or Call Center environment, demonstrating a holistic customer focus from credit to invoicing.
- Knowledge of sales tax exemption requirements across multiple states preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills; experience with SAP highly desirable and Salesforce CRM preferred.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail; proven ability to manage accounting figures accurately.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment with evolving business needs.
