In this critical role, you will oversee the daily operations of the Emergency Department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and compassionate care. As a key leader, you will support and guide a team of skilled nurses, fostering a collaborative environment focused on patient safety and continuous improvement.

  • Provide leadership and supervision to the nursing staff in the Emergency Department, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and maintaining a high standard of patient care.
  • Oversee patient care activities, ensuring timely assessment, treatment, and coordination of care for patients in emergency situations.
  • Mentor, coach, and support nursing staff, providing opportunities for professional development, and promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Work closely with physicians, healthcare providers, and other departments to ensure seamless and effective patient care.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives within the department, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance patient outcomes and departmental efficiency.
  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet the demands of the Emergency Department.
  • Provide leadership during emergencies, ensuring appropriate responses and interventions are executed effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required; Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) is preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency nursing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • BLS and ACLS certification is required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
