Supervisor: Right To Life of Michigan President

Objective: To assure appropriate availability of funds to underwrite budgets of all RLM entities inclusive of its educational fund, political action committee and other funds as directed.


RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, manage, and evaluate fund-raising programs and materials for RLM and its affiliates.

• Foster generous philanthropic support for RLM.

• Update and implement a major gifts program and own the stewardship of RLM’s major donor relationships.

• Write all donor materials including direct mail, annual appeals, and gift planning.

• Implement best-practices for outreach to donors by way of digital media.

• Proactively seek and cultivate individual, community, corporate, and foundation donor relationships.

• Prospect contributor lists for potential major givers.

• Hire, train and manage development staff.

• Conduct affiliate fund-raising/training programs as needed.

• Provide consultation on fund-raising events and attendance as needed.

• Establish and maintain positive interoffice communications/relations.

• Work with President to ensure consistent, clear communication with public through newsletters, events, and media.


COMMITMENT

This individual must be committed and motivated by the prolife philosophy of RLM, with a willingness to maintain current education on prolife issues/matters. Evening and/or weekend work may be required.

TRAINING & PREPARATION

This individual will receive adequate training upon hire with direction from appropriate advisers and training in basic organization skills and RLM projects.

EVALUATION

With newly hired individuals, an evaluation will be conducted after the first three months are completed; thereafter, an evaluation once a year by the President.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of modern and effective fund-raising tactics and strategies.

• 5+ years fundraising experience including proven experience seeking and

securing large gifts.

• Excellent communicator; excellent speaking, writing, presentation, and

interpersonal skills (strong relationship building capacity).

• Experience leveraging a CRM to manage a donor database.

• Excellent organizational skills.
