The Building Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the safety and functionality of our facilities. This role will perform routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repairs in our facilities to ensure efficient operational functionality. The Building Maintenance Technician will regularly inspect and respond to maintenance requests for a variety of building maintenance repairs.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks in and around the building, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry work.
  • Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis to extend the life of building systems and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address safety hazards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Diagnose and repair building systems and equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies necessary for building maintenance tasks.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to building occupants.
  • Maintain the exterior of the building if not serviced by a contractor.
  • Log and maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, materials used, and inspections.
  • Assist in managing the maintenance budget by sourcing cost-effective solutions and tracking expenses.
  • Operate computerized Energy Management systems.
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and maintenance concerns
  • Provide excellent customer service. Respond to fix requests/problems in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Be available for rotating on call and after hours work requirements.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in building maintenance, construction, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Licensed or journeyman electrician
  • Strong knowledge of commercial electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, demanding work environment.
  • Safety mindset with knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
