The successful candidate has comprehensive experience across all aspects of financial management, planning,  investments and operations. This role requires an analytical mind while also thinking big picture, focusing on the overall impact of the task or project at hand.


The Vice President of Finance will work alongside the principals and lead the finance and accounting team from our Dallas headquarters.


Scope of responsibilities:

  • Serve as strategic financial partner to the principal
  • Provide operational support by managing day-to-day transaction processing, invoice review, contract negotiation and oversight of transaction record-keeping.
  • Lead the current accounting and finance team by implementing policies and procedures that improved overall process efficiency and improved security
  • Oversee and monitor the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Prepare a wide range of financial and operational reports as requested by principal
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of all tax returns; become experienced in multi-state nonprofit tax compliance
  • Manage banking and investment relationships and act as liaison between the principal and outside investment, banking, tax and accounting professionals
  • Assess procedures for approving wires, invoice review and payment processing
  • Serve a key contact during real estate and other investment transactions
  • Maintain a well-organized system for financial records, invoicing, reports and other documentation


Qualifications:

  • 10 years’ experience in similar role with a family office managing a small finance or accounting team.
  • Advanced degree in finance or accounting. CPA not required but preferred as this role requires a proficient understanding of tax principles
  • Broad financial understanding and experience of nonprofits, trusts and estate planning
  • Strong Excel and MS Office Suite skills
  • Seeks to work with an entrepreneurial, creative, and fast-paced team
  • Tech savvy with the ability to utilize digital file management software, payment processing tools, trading platforms
