Job Summary: We are looking for a meticulous Payroll Coordinator who will be responsible for managing a variety of complex specialized duties in line with the admin and performance of our company wide payroll systems.

Essential Functions:

  1. Management of the company's payroll operations, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all company payrolls.
  2. Ensuring all payroll systems and practices are fully compliant with all policies, federal and state regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
  3. Investigating operational and administrative issues, evaluating alternative solutions and implementing necessary changes.
  4. Coordinating the testing and migration of obligatory Oracle payroll patches; providing technical assistance and troubleshooting issues for end-users.
  5. Extracting and reporting essential payroll data using a variety of software packages for differing purposes including public information and management requests.
  6. Generating crucial payroll data and reports to aid the with collective bargaining and contract administration requirements.
  7. Assisting in the formulation, execution, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and training plans for Oracle payroll applications.
  8. Recommending modifications to existing payroll policies and procedures, and ensuring efficient implementation of approved changes.
  9. Coordinating with IT to troubleshoot system issues and implement necessary system modifications prompted by changes in the collective bargaining agreements.
  10. Resolving complaints and providing information to employees regarding payroll and central timekeeping processes.
  11. Ensuring systematic organization, maintenance, and purging of various departmental files.


Successful candidates must demonstrate courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with staff and clients; they must act in such a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective working environment.

Qualification & Requirements:

  1. Proven work experience in a similar role handling a city or large-scale Business Enterprise.
  2. Proficient in Oracle and other payroll software.
  3. Excellent understanding of local, state, and federal tax and labor laws.
  4. Strong numeracy and communication skills.
  5. Detail-orientated, with excellent trouble-shooting competence.
