About the Role:


Position: Yard Operations Manager


Location: Bolyard Lumber & Design, 777 S. Eton St., Birmingham, MI 48009


Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations of lumber and building material warehouse and yard
  • Supervise warehouse and yard staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling
  • Manage supply chain logistics from yard/warehouse through delivery to the customer – receiving, dispatching, shipping, and delivery
  • Maintain a clean and organized yard and warehouse
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Maintain yard and warehouse equipment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to service customers, coordinate deliveries, and streamline operations
  • Ensure optimal customer service levels and help resolve customer issues


Qualifications:

  • Operations management experience required (3-5 years preferred)
  • Experience in transportation management and optimizing logistics processes
  • Computer skills
  • Building materials industry experience preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of warehouse and yard equipment
  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and work in an outdoor environment
  • Knowledge of safety protocols
