Job Overview:
 Finance Data Governance Team is in search of a Senior Data Governance Analyst to spearhead finance data governance and management functions. This role demands a deep-seated passion for data, alongside substantial experience in leading extensive data management implementations, programming, and change management initiatives. As a pivotal individual contributor, this role involves engagement with process owners, business data stewards, and close collaboration with technology partners.
The ideal candidate must possess a blend of business acumen, comprehension of finance business processes, project management prowess, effective communication skills, and the ability to make data-driven recommendations. They should be both an independent thinker and a team player, capable of clear communication, collaboration across diverse groups, employing analytical methodologies, and swiftly grasping and documenting new processes and requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, management of information systems, or a similar STEM field, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in data management and/or data governance; OR a Master's degree in a relevant field with at least 3 years of similar experience.
  • Profound understanding of the finance data ecosystem and technology landscape, encompassing finance functions, business processes related to finance data assets, challenges faced, and best practices for large public companies.
  • Hands-on experience in data risk management and data control implementation under various regulatory frameworks such as SOX, BCBS 239, ISO 8000 series, DAMA DMBOK, IRS 7216, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA.
  • Proficiency in technical data skills and hands-on technology experience including data programming languages like SQL, Python, familiarity with data lake and data mart technologies such as AWS S3 and Redshift, and proficiency with data governance and BI tools like AWS QuickSight, QlikSense, and Tableau.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear, concise presentation of complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong team player with energy, enthusiasm, and attention to detail, capable of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of finance data stakeholders, data ecosystem, tech stack, data products, management practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support business process owners in meeting data compliance requirements, including developing control statements, designing and operationalizing control activities, and continuous monitoring and remediation of issues.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders and tech partners to implement and operationalize finance data governance principles and framework.
  • Define, implement, enforce, and monitor finance data governance policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide observations, maturity assessment, and develop program roadmaps for all finance data management areas.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in finance data management to meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Support finance data request governance and lifecycle management.
  • Assist in data governance metrics and analytical reporting.
  • Support finance data literacy initiatives, including developing a knowledge base, training content, and raising awareness.
  • Provide technical expertise and project management leadership for finance data strategy projects.
