The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for an Account Manager, Awards and Fellowships in our Professional Membership group at our National Center office located in Dallas, TX . The Account Manager is responsible for overseeing the administration, coordination, and strategic development of institutional awards and the Fellow of the American Heart Association program, a flagship program for American Heart Association Professional Membership. This role ensures efficient program operations, equitable selection processes, and impactful recognition of academic, professional or research excellence. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and scale a sustainable plan for the Fellow of the American Heart Association program, ensuring a robust membership recruitment and retention strategy. Manage the full lifecycle of awards and fellowships, including application, review, selection, and reporting. Facilitate review panels and selection committees, ensuring transparency and fairness; develop and refine evaluation criteria and guidance. Maintain accurate records and databases of applicants, recipients, and program metrics. Promote opportunities through targeted outreach, events, and digital platforms; serve as the primary point of contact for applicants, reviewers, and stakeholders. Oversee and manage key volunteer committees that oversee the global and domestic fellowship program. Manage and execute the Distinguished Scientists award program, including the nominations process, awards selection, and the annual onsite programming at the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions. Analyze data to improve program effectiveness, monitor program outcomes, and prepare relevant reports. Identify and implement enhancements to streamline operations and improve user experience. Stay current with best practices in fellowship and award management. Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to align program goals and support stewardship efforts by highlighting recipient achievements and program impact. Want to help get your resume to the top? Take a look at the experience we require: Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university. Minimum of three (3) years of project management experience in a professional business setting.; preferably 4+ years of experience in program management, higher education, or nonprofit administration. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; volunteer management experience is highly desirable. Experience with scholarship, grant, or fellowship administration is highly desirable. Proficiency in data management and digital platforms (e.g., CRM, application portals). Knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Ability to meet established deadlines while working independently. Ability to provide outstanding customer service skills to both internal and external customers. Ability to travel overnight, approximately 10% of the time. Here are some of the preferred skills we are looking for: Prior non-profit experience.
