Job Scope: Commercial Auto Claim Representative

Corporate Claims developed a shared service for high frequency claims with a primary focus on commercial auto. The claims team services multiple divisions across the enterprise and is looking to expand. By joining the team, you will be involved with problem solving, analyzing, and reviewing procedures and processes for optimal efficiencies while building knowledge of the organizations, processes, and customers.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

Direct Claim Handling

  • Handle commercial auto claims across 50 states
  • Investigate and maintain claims
  • Work towards claim resolution under best practices and compliance guidelines
  • Report losses that fall outside of the shared service scope
  • May affect settlements/reserves within prescribed limits and submit recommendations to supervisor on cases exceeding personal authority.
  • Conveys simple to moderately complex information to all appropriate parties, maintaining a professional demeanor in all situations.
  • Ensures that claims payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensures that claims handling is conducted in compliance with applicable statues, regulations and other legal requirements, and that all applicable company procedures and policies are followed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Shared Service / Innovation Development

  • Participate in technology changes for claim assignment and handling.
  • Analyze and assist in development of sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable business policy and process improvements.
  • Research best practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data.
  • Assist in the development and recommendation of business practices and procedure changes focused on increased productivity and reduced cost.
  • Responsible for assisting process improvement efforts.


Job Profile:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Professional designations are encouraged but not required.

P&C Adjuster Licensing

Field of Study: Liberal Arts, Business, or a related discipline

Experience: 6 months - 2 years of related automotive claims experience required. Bodily injury claims experience is preferred but not required. Willing to train the ideal candidate.
