Position Overview:


The Project Manager (PM) will report to the Area Manager (AM) and be based in the Middletown (New York) area. The PM will lead operations for a wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) contract project, ensuring that all goals and objectives are achieved in line with corporate or organizational policies. Key responsibilities include managing a team of employees or project participants, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining strong client relationships, and overseeing the financial performance of contract operations. This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position that requires a minimum of 40 hours per week on-site.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and client requirements.
  • Oversee and manage the financial performance of contract operations.
  • Maintain strong client relations and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Manage and supervise a team of 7 to 10 employees.
  • Conduct budgeting and purchasing activities.
  • Interpret analytical results and adjust operations to maximize treatment processes.
  • Maintain records and enter data accurately.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and PDF for various tasks.
  • Present information effectively in both written and verbal forms.
  • Operate and maintain equipment, including motors fueled by gasoline, diesel, or gaseous fuels.
  • Perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.


Qualifications:

  • NYSDEC Wastewater Operator Certification - 3A.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in wastewater operation and maintenance at a wastewater treatment plant with a score of 56 or higher.
  • Minimum of 5 years of staff management experience.
  • Clean and valid driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PDF.
  • Good communication, presentation, and record-keeping skills.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented.


Preferred Experience:

  • Operations and maintenance of Belt Filter Presses.
  • Data collection and entry for DMR.
  • Anaerobic digestion operations.
  • Septage receiving from outside haulers.
  • NYSDOH Drinking Water Certifications.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to speak and hear for 4-8 hours per day.
  • Walking, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling for 4-8 hours per day.
  • Handling, touching, and reaching with hands and fingers for 4-8 hours per day.
  • Climbing stairs or ladders, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and sitting.
  • Regularly lift 10-25 pounds; occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must distinguish color and have close and distance vision.
  • Ability to paint and use hand tools.
