A law firm with offices thoroughout the state looking for a Legal Assistant with PIP Arbitration experience
The law firm is an established fast-paced, high volume Plaintiff’s Personal Injury Law Firm, located in Midllesex County, NJ is seeking a Temporary/Contract PIP ARB Legal Assistant with experience in Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Arbitration matters
The firm has approximately 120 employees with twelve offices throughout the statre and including Philadelphia
They seek a Legal Assistant with whom will take initiative and is a meticulous PIP Arbitration team member to join our dynamic team
Our PIP Arb Legal Assistant will assist the attorney in managing the firm’s diverse range of PIP Arbitration cases, providing secretarial support with legal analysis, and collaborating with the attorney administratively to develop strategies with the team on work disputes and related issues.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist attorney with reviews new file assignments and approves initial pleadings, propound discovery, and develops strategy
  • Manage PIP Litigation, filing no fault arbitration demands at a high volume
  • Review medical provider files
  • Communicate with clients regarding their complaints
  • Open
    Verify Insurance claims such as Bodily Injury or property damages
  • Process invoices, e-filing, pleadings, and processes settlement checks
  • Provide monthly reports to medical providers
  • Maintain attorney calendar and monitor deadlines
  • Assist with Interrogatories, drafting answers and pleadings
  • Review all evidence documents
  • Communicate and discuss case claims with clients
  • Prepare and conduct court appearances, (Hearings, scheduling exams, zoom meetings, conferences, and status meetings)
  • Interact with clients and assist in preparing witnesses and client depositions
  • Prepare Arbitrations, Mediations and trials including expert witnesses
  • Assist attorney with draft Trial motions
  • Provide legal opinions to client claims
  • Prepare and participate in appeals
  • Investigate and pursue subrogation litigation as appropriate
  • Responsible for making the zoom appearances, reviewing adversary papers, making settlement offers
  • Manage federal and state filings
  • Assist with settlement demands
Required Qualifications:
  • High School degree or equivalent.
    Paralegal certificate strongly preferred
  • Up to 3+ years Personal Injury Protection Litigation experience
  • General knowledge of law firm operations
  • No Fault and/or SIU experience is a plus
  • Maintain accurate case files
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Lexis research and Internal
  • Excellent verbal, written and people skills are key to working with a variety of internal and external contacts as well as for preparing reports, pleadings, and correspondence, collaborating with others, etc
  • Must be meticulous
  • Ability to manage a large caseload and ability to acquire new skills
  • Must possess ability to work well in a team setting
  • Strong knowledge of e-court systems
  • Comfortable traveling to various courts and offices
  • Strong knowledge of NJ PIP
  • Possess the ability to multitask & work with minimum supervision
  • Must experience with case management software., SmartAdvocate a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
