Job Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Module Design/Development Test Lead to join our Module Development Section with the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions (AMS) Department as a test lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the test of RF/microwave modules containing GaAs- and GaN-based monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) products. This would be in active support of existing technologies in production as well as next generation products in development. This position requires a strong academic background and experience in RF/Microwave Integration & Test.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Conduct testing on multi-channel RF Modules characterizing both receive and transmit behavior
  • Maintain and troubleshoot rackmount test stations and LabVIEW test scripts
  • Consult with RF module design and assembly teams

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 5 + years minimum experience in RF/Microwave modules.
  • Experience with microwave testing techniques, including using spectrum analyzers, Real-time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and Performance Network Analyzer (PNAs)
  • Experience with RF Testing, LabVIEW Scripting, Data Analysis
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:

  • A Master’s degree or PhD. in a Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Field 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in a production environment
  • Strong academic background that includes courses in: Microwave Engineering, Microwave Systems, Electromagnetic Theory and Radar SystemsExperience with analytical tools such as Matlab, Python, or JMP
  • Current DoD Secret level security clearance
  • Experience with GaAs and / or GaN MMIC devices

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
