Ø Day to Day Expectations/Responsibilities:
· Monitor and manage accounts where services related to a clinical trial are involved.
· Review and work potential research charges using guidance provided such as Coverage Analysis, study participant tracking calendars, clinical trial management systems (CTMS), correct coding initiatives (CCI) and coding guidelines.
· Ensure the Epic Research Study Record is correctly populated with the data elements per operational requirements for clinical trial associated billing accounts.
· Will need to be able to interpret and read through medical documentation and then determine if the charge will go to a payer, or if the clinical research project will be covering the procedure
· Responsible for producing research financial reporting, including invoicing departments for study sponsored charges.
Ø Screening Questions:
o Medicare NCD 310.1
o This is how people are reimbursed by clinical trials through medicare
o What documents do you need to review charges?
o Coverage Analysis
o Need to be able to know how to move charges
o Need to speak on routine cost in clinical trials
Ø Important information for role:
· Hours: Mon-Fri 8a-5p CST, flexible on when you begin and end your day after being cleared
· Onsite/Remote: Remote, but will need to go onsite once a quarter for a 3 day period
· System/s: EPIC
· Training expectations—
o Will begin on training with Scott, and once training is complete, coder will be released into production coding
· IT Information—Addison Equipment
· Approved/Unapproved States: Illinois
o Can hire from other states, as well, but please note, candidate will be responsible for hotel and flight, once a quarter
