We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Commercial Superintendent to join our dynamic team and oversee the successful execution of our projects.

Position Overview: The Commercial Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field operations on large commercial and multi-family construction projects, ensuring that work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires a leader with extensive experience in both commercial and multi-family residential construction, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and teams effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee and manage all on-site activities for large commercial and multi-family residential construction projects, ensuring that schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and supervise field staff and subcontractors, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all site operations comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications. Conduct regular inspections and enforce quality control measures.
  • Scheduling: Develop and manage project schedules, coordinating with the Project Manager and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
  • Budget Management: Assist in managing project budgets, monitor costs, and ensure financial efficiency. Report on budget variances and implement cost-control measures as necessary.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and consultants. Facilitate effective communication between all parties involved in the project.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, and logs.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues that may arise during construction, employing creative and practical solutions to keep the project on track.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in commercial and multi-family residential construction, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour certification is required. Additional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED AP) are a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, Microsoft Project) and basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work on a construction site, including the physical stamina to perform site visits and inspections.
