Job Description:
As the Plant General Manager of the Kansas City facility, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency, and leading a large team of professionals in the injection molding and automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to achieve operational excellence in production, quality, and efficiency.
- Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including manufacturing, scheduling, maintenance, and logistics.
- Develop and implement plans to optimize production processes, minimize downtime, and maximize equipment utilization.
Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of professionals, including production managers, engineers, supervisors, and support staff.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide coaching and development opportunities to enhance team performance and capabilities.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements, particularly in the automotive industry.
- Implement robust quality control measures to maintain product integrity and meet customer expectations.
- Drive initiatives to improve first-pass yield, reduce defects, and enhance product consistency.
Safety and Compliance:
- Champion a strong safety culture by promoting adherence to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Customer Focus:
- Collaborate closely with automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to understand their requirements and expectations.
- Coordinate production schedules, inventory management, and order fulfillment to meet customer demand and delivery schedules.
- Address customer concerns, inquiries, and feedback promptly and effectively to ensure customer satisfaction.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the plant budget, including expenses, capital expenditures, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track plant performance and financial results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations management, with a strong background in injection molding and the automotive industry.
- Proven track record of leadership, team building, and driving operational excellence in a large manufacturing environment.
- Deep understanding of injection molding processes, automotive manufacturing requirements, and quality management systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
